Scott's Story
I'm Scott Donaldson — a business professor at Crowder College, where I also serve as Faculty Association President, and for years now I've served on the Finance Team at my home church, Christpoint, where I also taught our Faith and Finances workshop. I've spent a career teaching money in a classroom and a lifetime learning stewardship in the pew.
Money isn't new territory for me. Before Crowder, I spent a decade in college enrollment leadership — as Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at NEO A&M (2013–2018) and as Director of Admission and Financial Aid at Pittsburg State University (2018–2023) — work that meant helping families face college costs and financial aid honestly, year after year. Before that I taught business at NEO A&M and at Carl Junction High School. Altogether: more than eight years in the classroom and ten years helping families make big money decisions with clear eyes.
Here's what I know: most families aren't careless — they're just never shown a biblical way to begin. Faith & Finances starts small on purpose. One honest look at where the money goes. One cheerful act of giving. One simple budget. Small steps, taken with God, compound into a changed household.
